Telehealth Counseling

Telehealth counseling allows a client and clinician to meet by secure video or other approved technology when the clinician is permitted to practice where the client is located.

Why people choose telehealth

Telehealth can reduce travel time, make scheduling easier, improve access for people with mobility or transportation barriers, and expand options beyond the immediate neighborhood.

What to consider

  • A private place where you can speak comfortably
  • Reliable internet and a device with audio/video
  • A backup plan if the connection fails
  • How emergencies are handled when you are remote
  • Whether the therapist is licensed or otherwise authorized where you are located

When in-person care may be preferable

Some clinical situations, safety concerns, technology limitations, or personal preferences may make in-person treatment more appropriate.
