Substance Use & Recovery Support

Alcohol or drug use can become concerning when it causes health, safety, relationship, work, legal, or financial problems or becomes difficult to control despite negative consequences.

Treatment is not one-size-fits-all

Options can include outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment, medications for certain substance use disorders, peer recovery groups, recovery coaching, and medical care.

Withdrawal can sometimes be dangerous

Stopping some substances suddenly can create serious medical risks. Anyone concerned about withdrawal should seek medical guidance rather than assuming it is safe to stop abruptly on their own.

Mental health and substance use often overlap

Trauma, anxiety, depression, pain, sleep problems, and substance use can interact. Coordinated treatment may be helpful when more than one concern is present.
